ETI Director Renee Turner, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S™

Renee Turner, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S™ is an author, researcher, and trainer with nearly 20 years of experience working in grief and loss, complex trauma, and identity and spiritual issues. Working from a Gestalt perspective, she values embodied awareness and relational practices using an expressive arts framework. Renee incorporates somatic and body-centered practices into her teaching, resulting in an interpersonal educational process. She has been an Association for Play Therapy Approved Provider (#11-302) since 2011 and has provided countless hours of training to Texas play therapists. Renee was honored to lead the research team responsible for establishing APT’s Play Therapy Competencies in 2020. Promoting and increasing the field of play therapy and expressive arts is Renee’s passion. She presents locally and nationally on the ethical application of play therapy, sandtray therapy, and expressive therapies with children, adults, and families. Professionally, she has held many service leadership positions including Past President of the Texas Association for Play Therapy and multiple committee leadership positions for the Association for Play Therapy. She also serves on the International Journal for Play Therapy and World Sandtray Association editorial boards. Due to her service and contributions to the field, in 2017, Renee was recognized with the Emerging Leader Service Award by the Association for Play Therapy for her continuous dedication to the field of play therapy. She is also the recipient of the 2019 Outstanding Supervisor Award given by the Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (TACES). and Nancy Guillory Award by the Texas Association for Play Therapy.

  • Will I receive CE credit?

    Yes! Expressive Therapies Institute, PLLC is an Association for Play Therapy Approved Provider (#11-302). Please contact your state/national licensure board to determine if APT credit is accepted toward license renewal. All webinars and book studies earn Non-contact credit. For live training sessions which offer direct contact credit, please visit www.drreneeturner.com

  • What is your return policy?

    Courses have a 10-day, full refund policy. No refunds will be given for any course in which a certificate has already been issued. No partial CE credit is available. There are no course refunds issued due to a participant’s failure to complete the course. Attendees must be present for live events for the entire duration or complete an entire online course (with quiz and evaluation) to obtain any credit. Course fees will not be changed or refunded after purchase due to the availability of a course promotion or offer available at a later time. Play therapy credit will be awarded to mental health professionals.

  • Additional terms

    It is the responsibility of all participants to obtain appropriate supervision and/or consultation when learning new therapeutic techniques and to operate within their scope of practice and professional regulations. Acceptance of continuing education is subject to state and national licensing and credentialing bodies. Contact your state board or professional organization for guidance. Quiz answers and participant information are stored for audit purposes for a period of five years.

While every attempt is made to anticipate and resolve problems, complaints may still arise.   • How long can I access training material?

    You have access to training material for 90 days.
